02 — On the gaming credit

What the NZ$50 is and what it is not

It is a fixed amount of house credit, issued once, at the cage on level two, against your room and your identification. It is part of a hotel package with a price on it — you have paid for it inside the package rate, in the same way you have paid for the breakfast.

It cannot be topped up, matched, multiplied or carried to a second visit. There is no scheme underneath it and no condition to work through. If you would rather not take it, say so at check-in and we will move the value to the dining credit instead — a fair number of guests do.

Nobody under 20 can be given it, including as part of a package booked by somebody older. The Windward Room is on-premises only: there is nothing to play on this website and nothing to download.

  • AvailabilityEvery package is subject to rooms in the stated category being free. We do not oversell and we do not move you.
  • BookingDirect only — this form, the telephone, or email. Reservations confirms in writing with a number before anything is held.
  • PaymentThis website takes no payment of any kind. Package rates are settled at check-in.
  • CancellationFree to 72 hours before arrival. Inside 72 hours, one night is charged.
  • CombiningOne package a stay. Package rates do not combine with corporate or negotiated rates.
  • CreditsDining and gaming credits are for the stay, are not refunded if unused, and are not exchanged for cash.
  • ChangesWe will move a package to new dates once at no charge, subject to availability.
  • WithdrawalPackages may be withdrawn or changed. A confirmed booking is honoured on the terms it was confirmed on.

Ask about dates before you plan around them

Wellington fills up around the rugby, the arts festival and Beervana. If your dates are near any of those, ask first — we will tell you honestly whether it is worth building a weekend on.
